Avid Edge, Eagle Farm, Brisbane QLD 4009
The property
AVID Edge operates a uniform printing business with a customer-facing shop and point of sale downstairs, while production, storage and deliveries take place in the warehouse. The business also has an upstairs office and a second point-of-sale area.
The assessment
Before specifying equipment, we assessed how the business used each part of the premises. The aim was to identify important work and customer areas where activity needed to be visible, including production, storage, deliveries, both points of sale and the upstairs office.
Vulnerabilities identified
Areas requiring coverage
- The shirt production and printing areas.
- Shirt storage and warehouse activity.
- Deliveries and access around the warehouse stairs.
- The downstairs and upstairs points of sale.
- The upstairs office.
The system design
We designed a CCTV system to give the business visibility across its key operational areas. Cameras were positioned to monitor production, warehouse activity and both points of sale. Motion recording was configured to make it easier to locate relevant footage when needed.
The CCTV layer
Four 8MP Hikvision cameras were installed inside the premises:
- Above the warehouse stairs: to capture activity around storage, deliveries and the production floor.
- Printing room: to monitor activity in the shirt printing area.
- Downstairs point of sale: to cover the customer-facing sales area.
- Upstairs point of sale: to cover the second sales area.
Motion recording
The cameras were programmed to record motion, making it easier to search for activity and retrieve relevant footage.
Power & recording
Footage is recorded locally on the property. An uninterruptible power supply (UPS) provides temporary backup power to help keep critical security equipment operating if mains power is interrupted.
The installation
- 01On-site assessmentWe reviewed the premises and the business's operational needs.
- 02Booking confirmationThe deposit was received to confirm the installation booking.
- 03SchedulingA five-day turnaround was arranged.
- 04InstallationThe cameras and recording equipment were installed and commissioned.
- 05Training and handoverThe customer was shown how to use the system. Periodic check-ins were also arranged to review the system with the business.
The handover
After commissioning, we set up mobile viewing and walked the customer through the app and footage playback. We also explained how the motion-recording setup helps them find relevant footage.
Follow-up check-ins were completed at 7 and 31 days, with a further check-in planned at 365 days.
The result
AVID Edge now has camera coverage across key production, storage, delivery and sales areas that previously had limited visibility. The system gives the business a way to review activity and access video footage when needed.
