Riverfront Apartments, West End, Brisbane QLD 4101
The property
A residential unit complex with shared entrances, multiple car park levels, resident storage facilities and parcel drop-off areas. The customer wanted to improve the existing CCTV system and add cameras to provide better visibility across these shared spaces.
The assessment
We assessed the existing system to review camera positioning, identify gaps in coverage and determine where additional cameras would improve visibility. The redesign focused on entrances, vehicle access points and shared areas used by residents and visitors.
Vulnerabilities identified
The assessment identified areas requiring improved coverage:
- Resident and visitor car parks.
- Downstairs resident storage facilities.
- The front entrance and internal foyer.
- Vehicle access gates.
- Parcel drop-off areas.
The system design
We improved the positioning of existing cameras and replaced them with 8MP vandal-resistant dome cameras. Additional cameras were installed to extend coverage across the complex, creating a more comprehensive view of entrances, parking areas and shared facilities.
The CCTV layer
The 8MP cameras provided coverage of:
- The front entrance and access gate.
- The internal foyer, immediately inside the front door.
- Parcel drop-off areas.
- Visitor parking spaces.
- The upper-level car park.
- The P1 car park and resident storage facilities.
- The P2 car park and lift access area.
Internal coverage
Cameras inside the building covered the front door, foyer, lift access, parcel drop-off area and fire door. This extended visibility beyond the exterior entrances to help review movement through key shared spaces.
Power & recording
Footage is recorded locally on the property, with approximately three months of video storage available for reviewing past events.
The installation
- 01On-site assessmentReviewed the existing equipment, camera coverage and customer requirements.

The handover
After commissioning, the system was configured for mobile viewing. The customer was guided through the app, including how to view cameras, review recordings and retrieve footage.
Follow-up check-ins were completed at 7 and 31 days. A 365-day check-in is planned once the system has been installed for one year.
The result
The upgraded system provided broader visibility across the complex, covering key entrances, car parks, storage facilities and parcel drop-off areas. Improved camera positioning and additional 8MP cameras addressed gaps in the previous layout.
The customer was pleased with the improved coverage and completed the handover with a clear understanding of how to access and review footage.
