Yatala, Gold Coast QLD 4207
The property
A busy industrial site handling large, heavy materials, with loading and unloading areas, working spaces, storage areas and a back office.
The assessment
Before specifying equipment, we assessed the site to understand how people and vehicles move through it, where materials are loaded and unloaded, and which working and storage areas needed clear camera coverage.
Vulnerabilities identified
The assessment highlighted several areas that needed to be monitored:
- The front yard and main site entrance
- The side yard used for loading and unloading heavy materials
- The main working shed, including the area where hot works are performed
- Storage areas and the back office
The system design
The system was designed around the way the site operates. Camera coverage focuses on the main access points, material handling areas and key workspaces, including the factory area where hot works take place. Local recording and UPS backup were included to support reliable operation on site.
The CCTV layer
Three 8MP cameras provide coverage of key areas across the property. The layout focuses on:
- The front yard
- The side loading and unloading yard
- The main working shed
- The office
The internal layer
CCTV cameras monitor the indoor factory area where hot works are performed, giving the customer footage of activity inside the workspace as well as coverage of the yard.
Power & recording
Footage is recorded locally on the property, with storage configured for up to three months of video. An uninterruptible power supply (UPS) provides temporary backup power to help critical security equipment continue operating if mains power is interrupted.
The installation
- 01Site planningWe confirmed camera positions to cover the main entrances, yard and key work areas.
- 02Equipment installationWe installed and connected the cameras, local recording equipment and UPS.
- 03Testing and setupWe checked the camera views and recording, configured mobile access and showed the customer how to review footage.
The handover
After commissioning, we configured mobile viewing and walked the customer through using the app and reviewing recorded footage.
Follow-up check-ins were completed at 7 and 31 days. A further check-in is planned at the 365-day mark.
The result
The customer now has video coverage across key areas of the site and up to three months of recorded footage available for review. The system provides visibility across the yard and factory areas, where there was previously little or no camera coverage.
