The property

This two-bedroom villa had neighbouring properties with frequent activity at night. The owners wanted more than footage after an incident: they wanted cameras with lights and sirens around the outside, along with protection for the inside of the home and their belongings.

The assessment

We assessed the home’s entry points and approach areas to plan CCTV coverage around the main ways someone could reach the property. We also considered how to add internal detection, giving the owners an additional layer of protection if someone entered the home.

Vulnerabilities identified

Vulnerabilities identified

  • The front door was a key entry point.
  • Windows along the side of the villa could provide another way into the home.
  • The rear door and windows also needed coverage.
  • Without internal detection, the owners would have limited warning if someone made it inside.

The system design

We designed a Done For You, Maintained For You Full Protection two-layer home security solution. The system combines external cameras with active deterrence features and internal sensors and a siren.

The CCTV layer

Three 8MP TIOC Pro cameras were installed to monitor the main entry areas:

  • Two 8MP TIOC Pro cameras with flashing red and blue lights and sirens.
  • One 180-degree panoramic TIOC Pro camera with flashing red and blue lights and a siren. Together, the cameras provide coverage around the main approaches to the villa, while the lights and sirens add an active deterrent.

The internal layer

The internal detection layer includes:

• Four PIR motion sensors. • Two door break sensors. • One indoor siren.

This gives the owners a separate layer of protection inside the home, which can be armed independently of the cameras.

Power & recording

Footage is recorded locally at the property. An uninterruptible power supply (UPS) provides temporary backup power to help keep critical security equipment operating if mains power is interrupted.

The installation

  1. 01
    On-site vulnerability assessment
We assessed the property and discussed the owners’ security concerns.
  2. 02
    System design
We planned a solution around the home’s entry points and the owners’ priorities.
  3. 03
    Booking
After the owners approved the design, we received the deposit and confirmed an installation date.
  4. 04
    Installation and commissioning
We installed and tested the system.
  5. 05
    Handover
We set up mobile viewing and showed the owners how to use the system.
  6. 06
    Ongoing support
The system includes a five-year warranty and remote maintenance.

The handover

After commissioning, we configured the system for mobile viewing and guided the owners through the app, footage playback and the internal detection controls. We showed them how to arm the internal layer separately from the cameras.

We completed follow-up check-ins at 7 and 31 days. A further check-in is planned at 365 days.

The result

The owners are extremely happy with the system and feel more in control of their home’s security. They now have visibility around the outside of the property and an additional layer of protection for their belongings inside.
