The Lake House Bar & Grill, Victoria Point, Brisbane QLD 4165
The property
The Lakehouse Bar & Grill had recently changed ownership. The previous owner had taken the NVR and modem, leaving the new owners with existing 2MP cameras but no recording system. The low-resolution footage also made it difficult to clearly review activity around the restaurant.
The assessment
We assessed the restaurant’s customer areas, kitchen, storage spaces and office to identify where the existing cameras provided limited coverage and where footage might be useful to the new owners.
Vulnerabilities identified
Vulnerabilities identified
- No NVR was in place to record footage.
- The existing 2MP cameras provided limited image detail.
- Key areas of the restaurant, including the main dining space, needed better coverage.
- Blind spots in the kitchen needed additional cameras.
- Storage areas and the office also needed coverage.
The system design
We upgraded the system with 8MP/4K Hikvision vandal-proof dome cameras, positioned across the restaurant’s indoor and outdoor areas. Additional cameras were included to address the kitchen blind spots.
The CCTV layer
Camera coverage was installed across:
- The exterior entrance and customer waiting area.
- Indoor restaurant areas.
- Outdoor and indoor seating areas.
- The bar and point of sale.
- The kitchen.
- Storage areas.
- The office.
Power & recording
Footage is recorded locally on the property. The new NVR is configured for motion recording, with storage capacity planned for approximately three months of footage. An uninterruptible power supply (UPS) provides temporary backup power to help keep critical security equipment operating if mains power is interrupted.
The installation

- 02Booking confirmationThe deposit was received to confirm the installation booking.

Follow-up check-ins were completed at 7 and 31 days, with a further check-in planned at 365 days.
The result
The Lakehouse Bar & Grill now has a new NVR and higher-resolution 8MP/4K cameras covering the restaurant’s key areas. Vandal-proof dome cameras were installed throughout, with extra coverage added to address kitchen blind spots. The owners can now review recorded footage from across the restaurant when needed.
